Mark had always planned to have the summer off. Danielle had not ... until she decided to take advantage of her opportunity. She saw the pros: She had the time, travel partner and desire to hit the road. Thus began the planning for Road Trip 2010.
The pair began a Google calendar to keep track of the places they wanted to visit and events they wanted to attend. When a city’s name was mentioned, Mark would search minorleaguebaseball.com to see if he could attend a game; Danielle would search contradancelinks.com to find a contra dance.
On the agenda: Atlanta (family); Lexington, Ky. (dance); Louisville, Ky. (family); Pittsburgh; Gettysburg, Pa.; Reading, Pa. (baseball game with Jim from work and his family); State College, Pa.; Saratoga, N.Y.; Montreal; Quebec (family); Plymouth, Mass. (dance); Cooperstown, N.Y. (umpiring for Little League); Lenox, Mass. (yoga); Cleveland (rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame); Chicago; Milwaukee; Green Bay, Wisc.; Madison, Wisc.; St. Louis, Mo.; and various baseball games (Mark) and contra dances (Danielle).
We’ll try to “breakfast and blog” frequently enough to let everyone know we are still alive ... and to hold your interest in the blog.
